Hello. Thanks for visiting my personal website, which is modeled after those bland academic websites that you see all the time. Professionally, I am a researcher in electrical engineering broadly interested in signal processing and information theory. Right now, my main interest is on feedback control and reinforcement learning with communciation constraints. Generally speaking, I'm into any cool math problems related to signal processing, learning, or wireless communications.
I got my bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell in 2015 and 2016. I joined UT Austin in August 2016 as a Ph.D. student in the ECE department (Decision, Information, and Communications Engineering track). I finally finished in May 2023. My advisors were Takashi Tanaka and Robert Heath Jr. I'm an alumnus of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group and the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences.
I have been on the faculty of the Brantling Snowsports School since 2008, receiving tenure sometime between then and now. I was a lifeguard at Sodus Point Park on Lake Ontario from 2008-2013, retiring as park director. I interned at what was then LGS Innovations (now CACI) in 2014, and at MITRE from 2015-2016.
My personal passions are alpine skiing, sailing, neoliberalism, cheese (strictly demand-side), arguing about politics, cultural consumption, and (all-too-rarely) cultural production.
Current things I'm working on, things I used to work on, and links to my manuscripts, code, presentations...
